I wanted to give a "Maud Pie" feel to her design, since she is said to have a heart of stone by the other ponies.
I really liked and still like Wind Whistler back in G1, she is my favorite. If only they could bring her back...

Wind Whistler had a little more of a "pulse" than Maud Pie as she was not that deadpan. Though, a conversation between the two would certainly be fascinating.
